LFWend Feb 2016

On the 28th of February 2016 I took my second trip to London Fashion Weekend at the Saatchi Gallery, and it was just as amazing as the first time!

I was lucky enough to bag myself tickets for both the trend and designer catwalks. The first show I went to was the trend show, which showcased some fabulous pieces from VeryExclusive.co.uk. This was split up into four themes, with the first being "Beautiful Botanicals". This featured a lot of floaty, floral dresses and skirts in neutral shades, which will transform our wardrobes perfectly into spring. The second section was "Americana", which showcased a large number of leather jackets along with shades of red and blue. Next up was "Pop Art", which was made up of bold and bright colours; perfect for livening up our summer wardrobes. The final instalment was "New Romance", which moved away from the luminous colours and focused on pale shades, with plenty of feminine and girly pieces to accompany.

The second and final show was by Holly Fulton. The East London-based designer brought her brand new collection to London Fashion Weekend and did not disappoint! Full of bursts of blue, lime green, orange and pink, it looks as though colour-blocking has not gone out of style just yet. What made these pieces truly unique was the funky patterns and embellishments that were crafted onto them. My personal favourite was the patterned blue mini dress; perfect for summer!

Although it was sunny, it was still quite chilly outside, so I wanted to look stylish but keep it practical at the same time. I opted for my brand new navy striped shirt dress (From the petite section so it fit perfectly!) with a statement necklace, my baby pink Moschino quilted bag, leather jacket, boots and tights to keep my legs warm!

Simply Chic

I don't usually do very well during the January sales. The style never suits me, my size is the only one never in stock, or that piece I've had my eye on for ages is still full priced (If so I'll usually just buy it anyway!)

However, it must have been my lucky day, as this white blazer I'd been lusting after for so long was finally reduced! It's a size 4 from the Petite section in Miss Selfridge, so it's perfect for my petite frame. Usually jackets and blazers are too big for me, but luckily this one fits just right.

Although I wouldn't wear this casually, it'd be ideal when going out for dinner or anywhere slightly more formal. In this case, I have decided to team it with a plain white crop top, my blue Joni jeans and a statement necklace. It wouldn't look out of place with a blouse and a pencil skirt as well.

Additionally, I decided to pair it with my brand new Marc Jacobs watch. I was kindly given some money for Christmas, so I thought that buying this watch would be a good investment. It's rose gold so it goes great with silver, which is ideal for me as I never go a day without wearing a piece of silver jewellery!

It's the most wonderful time of the year. . .

I'm not going to lie, winter isn't exactly my favourite season. Cold weather, dark skies at 4pm and a serious lack of sunshine aren't exactly my cup of tea. But, one thing I do love about this season are the new clothes! Any excuse to update my wardrobe makes up for the dull weather.

My favourite pieces from winter have to be coats. I normally purchase one new coat every year, and this time around I bagged myself this beauty from Miss Selfridge. One thing that I adore is the beige-coffee colouring, which I feel always looks chic. It can be paired with both light and dark colours, which is perfect for me as I love wearing a range of different colours in the winter, so it fits perfectly with the versatility of my wardrobe this time of year.

The statement feature of the faux fur collar is probably my favourite part of this piece. Not only is it super cute, but it's great for keeping my neck comfy and warm. Although I do love a pretty scarf, this acts as a perfect substitute.

In terms of styling I decided to go casual, so I teamed it up with my blue Joni jeans, my brand new heeled boots and a cropped charcoal turtle-neck top that I recently purchased during a shopping trip with my best friend Harry

You probably noticed a little companion in a couple of these photos. Last month we introduced a new addition to our family; Herbie. He's a gorgeous blue French bulldog with the most adorable face - and great ears to match! He's just 16 weeks old and has settled in really well.

London Fashion Weekend 2015

On Sunday 27th September I went to London Fashion Weekend for the first time!

As it's not an event that comes around very often, I wanted to wear something other than the usual crop top and jeans, but at the same time I wanted to be comfortable as there was a lot of walking around to do. After wandering around the shops and unfortunately not being able to find anything, I spotted this khaki ensemble online! As well as being super figure-flattering, it also features lace-up detailing around the front, fitting in with the 70s style pieces that are really on-trend at the moment. To polish off the look, I paired the dress with my Michael Kors Selma handbag and my trusty white converse.

I saw two collections; Very Exclusive and Christopher Raeburn.

The Very Exclusive show was split into four different sections; Into The Wild, Marsala, Punk and Super Retro. Each one brought something different to the table, but my favourite had to be Marsala. The tones of cranberry, pink, red, plum and burgundy complimented each other perfectly, and gave the collection a real autumn feel. My favourite piece had to be the pink and coral ombré REDValentino maxi skirt, as it's both chic and practical.

The Christopher Raeburn collection was very unique indeed! It was very outerwear focused, with plenty of bright orange jackets and neutral tone coats being showcased. Not only that, there was an underwater vibe to this collection, with a bag shaped like a shark to prove it! (I definitley have my eye on that!) The final touch was the use of up cycled materials throughout, making this an environmentally-friendly and stylish collection.

As well as being the host to stunning catwalk collections, London Fashion Weekend also features a pop up boutique with tons of brands to shop from; some even at discounted prices! Brands included this year were Sophia Webster, Issa, Love Designer Boutique (which sells brands including Vivienne Westwood and Moschino) and lots more!

Overall I had a fabulous time, and I can't wait to visit next year!

Sheer Voile

A few days ago, I was one of the three lucky ladies who managed to win a Christian Louboutin lipstick with EtailPr!

The case is absolutely gorgeous. Each shade of rouge comes in a different case. As I have the "Sheer Voile" shade, the plastic case has a scale-like texture. Also, to add an extra touch of glamour, a ribbon is provided and can be thread through the top of the lid, transforming the lipstick into a jewel on a necklace.

The lipstick itself may seem very bold, but it's not too over-powering at all. It's sheer, so it comes out glossy and shiny. Not only that, but it also contains seed butters and natural oils; perfect for keeping your lips subtle and moisturised at the same time.

The black case paired with the shade of red resembles the classic Christian Louboutin heel with the red sole, making it the most stunning lipstick I've ever owned.

Super Glam

Not long ago I made my first ever purchase on MyBandageDress' website; and boy was I pleased that I did!

The bandage material means that it's a nice tight fit (which is ideal for my petite frame) and is super figure-flattering. It's also high-waisted, so it'd look great with a crop top.

In terms of styling, I decided to keep it simple and team it with my white bandeau crop top, keeping the tones neutral. I thought that a statement necklace was needed to add a little bit of glam to the outfit, so I felt that my cream flower necklace would be perfect for the job. However, for me, just one piece of jewellery just wouldn't be enough, so I paired it with my silver shamballa bracelet and a birthstone ring to polish off the look.

I wanted to keep my make-up simple (Less is more and all that) so I went for a light red lipstick to add a slight splash of colour, and gold nails to compliment the beige shade of the skirt.

That's one of my evening outfits for Ibiza sorted!

Pretty n' Pale

When the sun comes out, I love mixing pale tones together to make an (almost) perfect summer outfit.

Lucy Mecklenburgh has recently released a new collection entitled "Wildfires and Dreams" with PrettyLittleThing, so I had a scan through and managed to find this cute little crop top! I'm absolutely obsessed with crop tops at the moment, as they're perfect for keeping cool in the heat and go great with high waisted skinny jeans. This one in particular caught my eye as it's cut out on the waist and round the back, making it a distinctive style.

Another thing that I adore about this top is the ice blue lace. Pastels are ideal for summer, so this top definitely won't look odd as a part of your summer wardrobe.

As you may have guessed, I tend to pair my white jeans with a lot of things; and this top was no exception! By blending these two light shades together, this outfit has more of an effortless chic vibe.

To polish off the look, I decided to team the top and jeans with my new pair of white and gold sandals and a simple white and turquoise necklace, as I felt that matching pieces would compliment each other best.
